Here comes the bridesmaid gifts....

Hello again ya'll. We are packing up to begin my birthweek celebrations. I am so glad Adams home from working in FL, but while he was away I had some girl time! I pulled out my jewelry making boxes & went to work. A few weeks ago I made a couple pairs for myself & my friends went CRAZY, they wanted them all. Soooooo the other night I made about 130 pairs!  I collected buttons, beads, rocks, feathers & went to work. About 20 pairs into this project I started thinking this could be an amazing bridesmaid gift. I have the most diverse group of friends ever so I can totally personalize a pair for my bff's personalities. This is what I have came up with so far.... Do you like? Who likes what?

(Tools needed)

Above I tacked a net fabric to the frames used in our engagement photos to display the earrings (consideing making those next)

One of my fashionista buddies will want the pair above!

Just a preview of the 130 I made.

The bright zebra earrings are for my flashy friends (im over GAINT chandelier earrings for everyday). Plus theses are super light.

This is my favorite glass!!! <3

Incase you forgot since the last blog post I LOVE cameos

Such an easy & cute way to display your earrings. Its a frame with ribbons tacked on the back to support the earrings.

My FAV:
How great is this 12 piece punch bowl set plus silver platter.
Its trimmed in ruby (my birthstone) & Im in love. Since I am sharing my favorite punch bowl set I should share the bar idea at the wedding.

Inspiration for our bar @ the wedding
This is the look I want for our bar. Except I want beautiful antique punch bowls sets!!!! I have so many great punch bowls already when I have more time I will take pics and blog about them too. I am also hoping that the small punch glasses will keep the alcohol intake to a minimum.

I love cameos, lace, and flowers almost as much as I love Adam...

Sooo Adam is away working because Debby (the tropical storm) has flooded FL & left so many people without power. I am so thankful and proud that Adam is a man that loves to work hard and help people. Honestly when he goes on storms I feel a little guilty because I dont have to do anything while he is busting his butt. I say that like I dont have anything to do but the truth is I am always taking on a project. So I guess what I am really saying is I may not have to cook, clean, or wash work uniforms while he is gone but I keep myself busy. I love cameos, lace, and flowers almost as much as I love Adam & this table setting has been another MUST HAVE for me. Ive been day dreaming about which event to use this look for, since the first time I laid eyes on it! Maybe showers, bridal luncheons, or even the wedding? My mix-match fine china and wild flowers placed in settings similar to the pictures below are going to be a sight ya'll are going to HAVE to see.

This is the inspiration.

The setting is classically beautiful however it is impossible to find many cameos that match. Plus, I have one massive crew of girlfriends & I knew finding enough cameos for them would be challenging soooooo I began collecting them. Yardsales, flea markets, antique stores, estate sales, new ones, buttons, earring honestly anything that shows a resemblance to a cameo for the right price Ive been buying. So far this is what the collection consist of....

<3 Im pretty sure this is the oldest one I have found YET. I have only found a few pins to compare it to & they date back to 1873. Im thinking its made of tin?  It is very fragile!  <3
(let me know if you know anything about any of these pieces)
This one is a great replica.

The hat pin is amazing.

I have 2 like the bronze in the middle, they were destine to be my earrings.

I think this is my favorite it has a Victorian man and a women looking at each other. I have 2 they will most defiantly be my earrings post wedding.

I restored the pins on many of these and painted spots on a few of the newer ones but most are already perfection. The beauty in them is amazing to me the craft it took for people to actually make these is awing. As I do with most of my vintage items I love looking at them and thinking about the story behind them. I am willing to bet they have yet to see a party like the ones going to be thrown for us! I can NOT wait to pull it all together to see how everything is going to flow. I have lots to craft tonight & I cant wait to show ya'll whats next.

Crazy chair lady...

I was NOT the girl that had a vision of the perfect wedding day. Honestly until recently I believed Adam and I would come back and surprise everyone with the news after traveling. After deciding on having a wedding one of the first visions was collecting seating.
Renting seating for our big day is way to easy for my taste...

One of my friends showed me the picture above after I shared my idea of having the wedding be "eclectic"
She totally understood my vision and from these photos I have been inspired.

This is the look I am going for.

So the initial thought of a small intimate wedding is rapidly growing into one great big ole southern event and I am getting excited. With the number of guest increasing everyday. Its fair to say I am quickly becoming the crazy chair lady!!! The chair hunt is on & I am obsessing over the chairs I've already found. I have chairs on the brain wire, wicker, wood, old, new, colorful, plain, velvet, fabric, pillows, leather I am not discriminating against ANY chairs that have potential and is under 5 bucks.

I bought 2 of these for 5$.

We have 4 of these chairs. Love the detailed back. A little work and they will look like perfection.

I can see a bridal portrayed on this love seat!!!!

These wooden chairs are going to be pastel colors. SOON. DIY paint party.

Obsessed with the velvet chair & the pinning!!!!

I have huge piece of lace that looks great over this stool. Plus it was free from the durham rescue mission.
(We like free)

I hope to find MANY more wire chairs like these. The heart chair I already owned I have 2 and they have been in my room at my daddy's house since I can remember.

And it begins....

And my experience authoring in the blog world begins. My name is Roxie Winburn soon to be Gardner, I am marrying my boyfriend (Adam) of 7 years 3-30-13. We have coined our wedding as a Southern vintage estate wedding with a side of hipster. I enjoy DIY projects/fashion/cameos/unique items/bling/family/friends oh yeah & ALL things southern. We both LOVE antiques and the history behind things, so we are having a blast finding everything to use for the BIG DAY. I am full of ideas and I want to share my story & my GREAT finds. Ya'll enjoy!
